Atlanta Motor Speedway

Since being purchased by Bruton Smith in 1990, Atlanta Motor Speedway has become an ultramodern, multipurpose venue. Amenities include a nine-story office/condominium complex, improved parking, more than 53,000 additional permanent seats, a road course, a four-color electronic message center and a new ticket office and gift shop. In 1997, the start-finish line was moved to the former back stretch, a dogleg was added increasing the distance to 1.54 miles and the asphalt was replaced.
