After a week off, Jimmie Johnson appears to be ready to start back with a strong week at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, qualifying sixth for Sunday's race at the Brickyard.
After looking very strong in both Saturday practices, finishing 4th and 6th fastest, Johnson put together a qualifying lap of 181.357 mph and 49.63 sec. Greg Biffle is the only driver starting ahead of Johnson on Sunday that is also ahead of him in the NASCAR Sprint Cup points standings. As for the rest of the Hendrick Motorsports stable of drivers, Jeff Gordon qualified 9th, Kasey Kahne 15th, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. 20th.
