Winning a sixth Sprint Cup Series title wasn’t in the cards for Jimmie Johnson on Sunday. However, he kept things in perspective: “I’ve got to reflect back on an amazing year and a year where we won a lot of races, led a lot of laps, so I need to thank everybody.”

Johnson came into this weekend completely focused on leaving with the points lead. Unfortunately, a melted RF bead caused Johnson to hit the wall, relegating him to a 32nd-place finish at PIR. “We still have to go to Homestead and race, and anything can happen down there,” said Johnson.

“It was an awesome race,” said Johnson. “The gloves are off, and it’s bare-knuckle time." Competitors be warned! After two victories in a row and with just two races remaining, the Lowe's Racing team is on a roll.

A pole, a win, a grandfather clock trophy, the points lead, and a manufacturer's championship...it doesn't get much better than that! Well, maybe when the checkered flag flies at Homestead, but this was definitely a memorable weekend!
